What's Happenin' with Smith Bike

Aaron Gwin took home 1st place in the first race of the 2018 Downhill season in Lošinj, Croatia

The first race of the of the 2018 season took us to Lošinj, Croatia. The relentless track took riders down through deep ruts, wicked rock-gardens and eventually through the city streets of Lošinj. Aaron Gwin showed that all of his off-season training and preparation was worth it as he muscled out a 0.79 sec win. The day ended with the familiar sight of Gwin standing on the top step of the podium, followed by the teams diving (or back-flipping) off the pier into the Adriatic Sea.

The 2018 UCI Downhill Race season is now is full swing. Smith athlete Aaron Gwin,
the reigning back-to-back overall World Champion, looks to make it 4 straight.

2018 marked the eleventh Red Hook Crit in Brooklyn. The day started sunny but as night drew, the storms moved in and the slick conditions made for a dramatic opening race for the Red Hook Crit series. Thousands of fans watched as the riders raced their fixed gear, track bikes through the technical course. Cinelli’s Davide Viganò just missed the podium, finishing 4th overall.

The Sea Otter Classic marks the unofficial kickoff to the Bike season. 75,000 witnessed the Smith brand making a bold statement as a we launch into 2018.

April 11- 14- Monterey, CA

The Sea Otter Classic was great event for both Smith and the bike industry in general. 74,000 consumers, 300 media and 10,000 athletes
enjoyed the beautiful California sunshine and the excuse to talk about all things bike. The Sea Otter Classic has become the worlds largest
cycling festival, growing by 50% over the last five years, and stands as the unofficial kick-off to the bike season.

Smith’s brand presentation was sescond to none, we unveiled a new modeular event booth that was beautiflully merchandised with all of our
new product and graphics. The booth featured a showroom style presentation on on half and a retail environment on the other half.

The stoke from our crew was outstanding! We had a blast working with customers and media, racing bikes, bbq-ing and hanging around the
campfire!!! As 2018 is a pivitol year for Smith as we evolve into a complete bike brand; i can say with out a doubt, the biggest takeaway from
all involved is that whether it is media, consumers or athletes, the bike industry is hungry for Smith and excited to see what we bring to
the table!
