Summer is here which means Sunglass season is kicking into high gear. To celebrate the new women’s collection, we’re launching a digitally-focused campaign and giveaway aimed at building a sense of excitement and community by showcasing the rad women of Smith doing the activities that excite and thrill them.

This is My Thrill, features three talented Smith Athletes; Surfer Caroline Marks, Snowboarder Desiree Melancon, and Cyclist Kelli Samuelson. We interviewed these athletes on their own turf and asked them how they pursue their thrill. All three have unique stories that together make a powerful and motivating statement.

In addition to highlighting the stories behind these Smith athletes, we’re launching a UGC (user generated content) giveaway asking our community of ladies to submit photos personifying their thrill using the hashtag #thisismythrill. Entries will be pulled in to a campaign landing page (viewable at www.smithoptics.com/thisismythrill) which will highlight the user submitted content. At the campaign end, winners will be individually selected by the three featured athletes. Thanks to our brand partners Chrome Industries, She Shreds, Salomon Snowboards, and …Lost Surfboards there are three incredible grand prizes in addition to the smaller weekly prize packages.

Stay tuned to @smithoptics from June 4th – 30th to get all the details and submit your own photos with the hashtag #thisismythrill.

Kelli Samuelson

"Lover of all things two wheeled and outdoors", Kelli Samuelson is leading the charge in women's cycling.  Initially recognized as that "weird tattoo girl" Kelli proved that words aren't always needed to make a statement with astounding records while chasing the the winners podium.

Not only is Kelli passionate about her sport, she is equally committed to helping others chase their cycling ambitions and she is an active member in growing the women's cycling community. Balancing being a competitive racer and running her race team LA SWEAT does not leave a lot of downtime but Kelli would not have it any other way.

Caroline Marks

In 2017, Caroline became the youngest woman ever to qualify for the WSL World Championship Tour—a giant feat considering the names of women who came before her. Her resume as an amateur is one of the most accomplished ever yet she also remains the humblest, sweetest person you'll ever meet. Caroline is a young phenom who also loves fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles on her family's ranch in Florida.

Desiree Melancon

A dominating force in women’s snowboarding, this SoCal native has established herself as a force in the streets. She brings confidence and personality to her prolific video parts including her most recent segment in Think Thank Methods Of Prediction, which earned her Video Part Of The Year. Desiree’s style is a hard and fast approach to rails, wallrides and massive gaps, which has earned her praise from fellow riders and fans year after year. Her creativity shines through in both her riding footage and in her other artistic passions—drawing and painting.
